Hearing aids for North Carolina Children!
On June 7, 2010 Governor Purdue signed into law the requirement that hearing aids for children under the age of 22
will be covered by health benefit plans. The goal to have insurance coverage for children's hearing aids in North
Carolina could not have happened without the tremendous effort and support of many organizations and families.
Thank you to Joni Alberg, our wonderful Executive Director at BEGINNINGS, for her dedication to this effort! A special thanks
to NC AGBell, the NC Medical Society, The NC Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the NC Department of
Health and Human services, the families and all the people and organizations that contributed to this great accomplishment!
